Brendan Rodgers has won the Manager of the Month award for April. The Hoops gaffer has guided his team back to the summit of the Scottish Premiership and has managed to maintain that three-point gap over our closest rivals as we head into the remaining few game of the campaign.

With a trip to Ibrox earlier on in the month, many had the Bhoys boss and his team dead and buried as theRangers were supposed to demolish us that day in Govan, just like they were supposed to back in September. Even without our influential skipper, we managed to put on a fine display and had it not been for some shoddy defending on the day, we would have claimed all three points.

With seven points out of a possible nine in April; beating St Mirren 3-0 at Celtic Park, drawing 3-3 with our fierce rivals away from home and overcoming a tricky Dundee side at Dens, Rodgers has set us on course to retain our title and it can be done in the next two games. If theRangers drop anything at home to Derek McInnes and his Kilmarnock side this weekend, it could put us in pole position to clinch the cinch Premiership again at Celtic Park against Philippe Clement’s men.

It would really be one two savour if we get it over the line, as we have been attacked from all angles this year and many have had our team beaten. However, Brendan has managed to keep us in it and even catapulted us into a strong lead as we head into the last four games. It’s been quite the turnaround again and Rodgers deserves credit for it. The man himself said on receiving the accolade, via the official Celtic website: “I’m delighted to accept this award on behalf of the players and my backroom team.

“We have enjoyed some excellent performances and results in the past month both at Celtic Park and away from home. The players deserve enormous credit. We look forward to returning to Celtic Park on Saturday in front of a full house and, of course, we hope we can continue this good form at such an important part of the season.”
