'MNF' best bets: Jets to power through the air

Hope you're not sick of NFL just yet. We've got us some betting opportunities to wrap Week 9 when the Chargers visit the Jets.

Surprisingly, it's the New York offense we've got our eye on for this "MNF" bankroll builder.

Simplicity for two Jets pass-catchers

The Jets defense is not one to trifle with, which is what makes targeting the Los Angeles Chargers the clearest area of interest from a player prop perspective.

As we were circling Week 9 names to know, this game kept popping up. First of all, no team is allowing more 20+ yard passes per game this season than the Chargers, which explains why they're allowing the most yards per pass attempt and the most passing yards per game.

It's for that reason we start with Garrett Wilson. Wilson is New York's clear top receiver, seeing 65 targets on the season, including 12+ looks in three of his last four games.

He's turned that recent uptick in volume into 76 receiving yards/game over his last four, including 90 and 100 in the last two games.

Wilson feels set for a big night, but we're watering him down for the first leg here.

Leg 1: Wilson 60+ receiving yards

We then turn to New York running back Breece Hall. Hall has been extremely involved in the passing game over the past few weeks, hauling in 3+ catches in four straight on 21 total targets. He's caught five and six balls in his last two games.

That is set to come in handy here, as the Chargers are allowing the second-most receptions per game to running backs at 6.57/game.

Leg 2: Hall 3+ receptions

Together, we have us a solid play for the evening as we root on the top options for this Jets offense. Enjoy the game!

Betting: Garrett Wilson 60+ receiving yards, Breece Hall over 2.5 receptions (+152 FanDuel)

In the news ...

NFL Week 9 delivers some big moments for individuals and teams — Some were sour on the Sunday slate heading into the weekend, but Week 9 in the NFL delivered us some signature moments. C.J. Stroud most definitely stamped his Rookie of the Year ticket with his monster game and last-second comeback win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (thoughts and prayers to HOU -2.5 bettors). Stroud finished with 470 yards, a rookie record, and five touchdowns. He's now -500 to win OROY. Meanwhile, Baltimore just keeps on destroying quality teams, working the Seahawks 37-3. The Ravens are 7-2, tied with the Chiefs for the best record in the AFC, and they've moved to +950 to win the Super Bowl.

In the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles had a massive win over the Dallas Cowboys 28-23 to move to 8-1 and take control of the NFC East in the process. Philly is -550 to win the division and +550 to win it all. How about that performance from Joshua Dobbs in Minnesota?! Just five days after being traded to the Vikings, Dobbs came on in relief and led Minnesota to their fourth-straight win in the final seconds. At 5-4, Minnesota has as good a claim to the NFC's final playoff spot as anyone, and you can grab them to make it at +140.

The week ended with Cincinnati taking down Buffalo, and after some early-season struggles, Cincy looks all the way back. The issue is they're in a loaded AFC North, with three teams at 5-3 and the aforementioned Ravens sitting pretty at the top. The Bengals are -300 to make the playoffs, and if the season ended today, all four AFC North teams would be in the playoffs.

College basketball season starts today with massive batch of games — While it's a few months before conference play gets going, the NCAA men's basketball season gets started with a packed slate of games. We've got you covered here on Yardbarker for all the content you need to prep for the 2023-24 season. Interested in the players to know this season? We have 25.  One to monitor is Hunter Dickinson, who transferred from Michigan to Kansas to power what many consider to be the best team in the nation. Dickinson is +900 to win Player of the Year, and the Jayhawks are the favorites to win it all at +1000.
