HBCU Legacy Bowl report on three standout players from Day-1 of practices for Team Gaither and Team Robinson.

3 Standout Players After Day 1 Practice

De'Jahn "Nugget" Warren, CB - Jackson State

Clocked as low as 4.38 in the 40 at the HBCU Combine, Warren has NFL scouts paying close attention, and his stock is rising. NFL Network's Steve Wyche said, "NFL teams are lining up to talk to him."

He has the look and swag of an NFL cornerback at 6-1 and 185 pounds; most of all, he's highly confident in his talent. Warren did not have plenty of interceptions and passes defended, which is usually a sign that teams chose to pass away from his direction.

On Monday, De'Jahn Warren was drafted by the New Jersey Generals as the 39th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2023 USFL College Draft.

Joshua Pryor, DE - Bowie State

The CIAA Defensive Player of the Year has all the intangibles you want in the defensive end. His size (6'3 1/2", 242 pounds), strength, and speed while with the Bulldogs translated into over 30 sacks and 80 TFL in his collegiate career.

He lost 40 pounds before attending the HBCU Legacy Bowl, which helped him at the HBCU Combine with a solid performance.

Jordan Lewis, LB/Edge - Southern

The 2021 SWAC Defensive Player of the Year and Buck Buchanan Award winner intrigues scouts with his size (6-3 220 pounds), length, and production with 28.5 sacks and 32 TFL.

Lewis ran a 4.7 in the 40 at the HBCU Combine and drew plenty of interest for interviews. It also helps him to have his head coach, Eric Dooley, coaching in the game and being able to answer questions about his abilities.

The HBCU Legacy Bowl will be held at Tulane University's Yulman Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 25.  The NFL Network and SiriusXM NFL Radio will broadcast the game live at 3:00 PM CT from New Orleans, LA.
